The first mountain stage of the race. Starting from Sibari, the riders climb towards the Valico di Campotenese, crossing the Pollino massif before continuing through the Basilicata hinterland on a constantly undulating route. The finale is demanding, featuring the ascent to Viggiano with 15 kilometres remaining, making it an ideal battleground for the first clashes among the general classification contenders.
FINAL KILOMETERS
The closing kilometres are flat, on predominantly straight roads interrupted by a few sharp bends. The stage concludes with a 300-metre finishing straight.

  3. Clementine di Calabria IGP/ Limone di Rocca Imperiale IGP/ Cedro di Calabria – citrus fruits harvested Oct–Feb, sweet and aromatic, symbols of the region.
