Speaking seconds after the stage finish, the stage winner Pavel Novak said: “It’s a great performance today. Before the race, we decided to let someone from our team go in the breakaway, then we wanted to attack at km 75. Once we were at the front, everyone was pushing and my team-mate Lorenzo Masciarelli did a great job. Then I went alone on a climb and I knew that I was two minutes ahead. It was a great feeling. In the morning, I was only 11th. It wasn’t a great position overall. I wanted to move up. Tomorrow I’ll try everything to win the Giro Next Gen”.
