Giro Next Gen 2026, Stage 7: route, favourites and where to watch on TV

19/06/2026

The finish atop Monte Livata has already provided plenty of important answers, but Stage 7, the 135-kilometre Sulmona–Piana delle Mele (Guardiagrele), is there to reveal even more. It promises to be an intense day of racing, featuring the iconic ascent of Passo Lanciano and an unpredictable finale. The favourites will undoubtedly be looking to make their mark

The Route

A short but highly selective mountain stage. After the ascent of Forcella di Acciano (4.7 km at 9.6%), the riders tackle Passo Lanciano (11.3 km at 8.5%), the day’s main climbing challenge, which crests with 43 kilometres remaining.

A technical section then leads into the final climb to Piana delle Mele, where the finish line awaits at the top of 3.9 kilometres averaging 7.4%.

The Favourites

Lorenzo Finn (Red Bull–BORA–hansgrohe Rookies) could be targeting another victory while wearing the Maglia Rosa, but this finish is one that many riders will have circled. Mateo Ramírez (UAE Team Emirates GenZ) and Henrique Bravo (Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team) have already shown they are in excellent form, while Aubin Sparfel and Rémi Arsac (Decathlon CMA CGM Development Team) should not be underestimated either. It is also possible that a rider launching an attack from medium to long range could enjoy success.
