Cycling Cup

The Cycling Cup is the initiative dedicated to very young competitive cyclists that allows them to challenge each other on the finishing straight before the end of the stage.

A sprint challenge on the last two hundred metres of the finishing straight that allows the youngest to sprint on the same finish line of the pros. Lasting a maximum of 30′ and with a number of 20 children per stage.

Created by RCS Sport together with the Italian Cycling Federation (FCI), the Cycling Cup is an event organised with the support of the Department for Sport and the Ministry for Sport, launched last year on the occasion of the Giro d’Italia 106, to facilitate the approach of young people to cycling by promoting a correct lifestyle, spreading the culture of fair play, in compliance with the 10 principles set out in the 1992 UNESCO Charter of Children’s Rights in Sport.

There will be three stages in the Giro Next Gen 2024 Cycling Cup: Borgomanero, Cremona and Forlimpopoli, the last of the competition dedicated to under-23s starting in Valle d’Aosta.
